Jury Members Announced for 2019-21 Exhibition Selection

We are proud to present our jury members for the 2019-21 Napa Art Walk exhibition, each being a notable individual in our local arts community.

Jermaine Danté Burse, Artist + Activist

Jermaine creates colorful portraits and paintings that comment on pop culture icons, as well as current social issues. His work is represented in multiple private collections. He is also a passionate activist working with several non-profit organizations including Doctors Without Borders, Build a Heart Foundation, Mentis Mental Health, and done extensive fundraising through Ferrari’s Sacramento Chapter.

 

John Hannaford, City of Napa Public Art Steering Committee Chair + Artist

John is a painter and mixed media artist with a national exhibition record. He is also a professional percussionist with an active performance schedule, community arts activity as well as an educator. He currently serves as Chair of the City of Napa’s Public Art Steering Community. He holds a Masters Degree in Fine Art and says, “I strongly believe that all of our lives, and our community’s identity, are lifted with a personal interaction with all of the Arts: see, hear, engage and create.”

 

Adam L. Weidman, Arts Council Napa Valley Board Member + Artist

Adam’s sculpture is represented internationally in galleries, private, corporate and public collections and has been featured in Art News, Le Maison France, Napa Valley Life Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine. He is an active community member serving on the board of directors for the Arts Council Napa Valley, teaching at risk youth for Nimbus Arts, and currently acting as a curative director for Sonoma Valley Museum of Art.

There is a new addition to the 2017-2019 Napa Art Walk program: "Wisdom of Decay" by Sante Fe, NM artist, James Burnes. 

"Wisdom" is now on view on the corner of First Street and McKinstry Street, in front of Gott's Restaurant in Oxbow Public Market.

Jamie won the 2015-2017 Napa Art Walk People's Choice Award for his sculpture, "Guermo en Inverno" that stood sentry in Dwight Murray Plaza.

The public is invited to celebrate the new sculptures in the 2017-19 program at the Community Kick Off City and Reception!

4:00 PM KICK OFF: Meet at Napa City Hall, 955 School Street

Get the new map guide and listen to the new audio tour available on Otocast (download the free app on your Smartphone) as you explore the work on a self-guided walking tour.

5:00 PM RECEPTION: Napa Riverbend Plaza, behind Napa River Inn, 500 Main Street 

Celebrate the new program at this free public reception hosted by the City of Napa and Napa River Inn. Small refreshments served from Silo's and wine poured by St. Clair Brown Winery.

Welcome to Napa Art Walk's new online home! To usher in the start of the 5th Art Walk, we decided it was time to spruce the place up: new website, new logo, new program.

Quick Update:

  • The 2017-2019 Call for Artists is almost ready and will be posted to www.callforentry.org this week.
  • The voting is open for the 2015-2017 People's Choice Award so vote here for your favorite sculpture in the current program. Winner will be announced in May 2017.
  • We have a new Instagram account check it out here. Post your best Napa Art Walk images tagged #napaartwalk and you'll be entered to win a prize from a downtown Napa merchant (TBD)!
